ABOUT

In 1983, IGC introduced a breathable synthetic fabric to act as a weed barrier material. Our Geoscape product was one of the first landscape fabrics in the horticultural industry. In the initial marketing, it became very clear, customers wanted a variety of sizes. This led to the purchase of an 81-inch slitting and rewinding machine, which was put into service in May of 1983. As the Geoscape Landscape line grew, more capacity was necessary. Today, IGC has four center wound slitters with a slitting capacity of up to 210 inches. Recently, IGC added a sheeting line that can handle 60" wide goods.

Since the introduction of the Landscape Fabric product, IGC has grown to include products that are used in the construction, packaging, and composite industries.

IGC is located in Charlotte, NC, ideally located for excellent transit times to the eastern United States.

We offer a wide range of fabrics, from needle-punch polypropylene to spunbond polyester and nylon. If you are developing a new product or want to improve on an existing one we can help with services such as flexographic printing. You can provide the fabric or we can source for you and provide complete production from master roll to finished product.

Needle-Punch Polypropylene and Polyester

Needle-punch nonwoven fabrics are formed from staple cut fibers that are formed by a process that needle the fibers in a stable and durable network such that the fibers retain their relative position. Needle-punch fabrics are known for their strength in the machine direction, and moldability in thermo applications.

Spunbond Nylon, Polypropylene, and Polyester Fabrics

Spunbond nonwovens are known for their dimensional stability in both the machine and cross direction. Spunbonds are formed by filaments which have been extruded, drawn, and then laid on a continuous belt. Spunbonds are used as scrims and backings in extrusion applications. Like needle-punch nonwovens, they offer excellent filtration properties.
